This device connects to a personal computer running Windows 8, 8.1 and 10, Apple Mac OS X, iPhone 5 and later, iPad 3 and later, Android 4.4 and later using Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth Smart) interface.


Also this e-meter can be connected to Windows from XP to Windows 10, Apple Mac OS X and Linux with USB-micro cable.


A solo can is a single can with two terminals. Half of the can is one terminal and the other half of the can is the second terminal. The meter is inside the can.

Additionally you can order an extra  40 mm can or a 50 mm can, that allows you to work in dual cans mode for auditing a PC. Then you have two cans of the same size, as in a normal auditing situation. When you connect this can to the meter, the solocan becomes one single can and the additional can becomes another single can and both cans will start to work in duo cans mode.

Cost $50 is  per can, for either the 40mm or 50mm size.

We do not include a USB cable with the device. Most users already have such cables and USB charging adaptors with a USB-micro connector. To save costs and weight we do not include any additional leads or adaptors with the package. If you need a USB-micro cable, please request this at the time of ordering.


Cans and leads

The additional can is not included in the bluetooth meter package. If you need the additional can, please do not forget to order the additional can of the size you want, at the time of ordering.

This device does not need any drivers installed, operating systems identify it as a standard Bluetooth 4 LE device.


The Bluetooth Meter works with a personal computer, using a USB cable and running Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, Mac OS X and Linux.


Setup of Bluetooth connection


iOS

To work with an iPhone or iPad there is no need to pair the devices, just activate Bluetooth in the Settings.


Android

Android 4.4 devices do not need any pairing.

In Android 5.0 and higher activate Bluetooth in the Settings, choose Theta-Meter BT 4.2 and enter code 000000.

To provide reliable connection with smartphones with only Bluetooth 4.0 LE standard, deactivate LTE in Settings during sessions. The LTE signal could block the Bluetooth 4.0 connection. No need to do this with devices with Bluetooth 4.1 and higher.


Windows

For Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 press the Start button, choose Settings, then Devices and Bluetooth. Choose from the list Theta-Meter BT 4.2 and press the Connect button, enter code 000000.

To check connection of meter to your computer use ble2.exe program. Download

Close ble2 program before you start any other Theta-Meter program for Windows.


Mac OS X

For Mac OS X, no pairing is required.


Short instruction

To activate the Bluetooth Theta-Meter, press the red power button at the end of the device. If the e-meter is charged and working, the green LED will start to blink.

To switch the e-meter off, press the red power button and the device will switch off.

To use the e-meter in duo can mode, or to connect an exterior solocan or duo cans, just connect external can/cans and the meter will switch in the correct mode automatically.

To charge the meter, connect it using the USB-micro cable to the USB port of the notebook, computer or wall socket charger. If the device is discharged, a red LED light will display. When the device is fully charged, the red LED light no longer displays.
